Weiyu Tan

Weiyu Tan (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2007 and is a Managing Director heading the Asia Family Capital team within Global Client Solutions. His previous roles at the firm included leading the growth of our Private Equity business in Southeast Asia and China from 2007 to 2015. In 2015, Mr. Tan moved to KKR Capital Markets and was the head of the Asia Debt Capital Markets business, responsible for raising equity and debt-related solutions for KKR acquisitions, KKR portfolio companies and third party clients in Asia. He has worked closely on the firm’s investments in Unisteel, Qingdao Haier, LCY Chemicals, Oriental Brewery, LSAT/KCT, Far Eastern Horizon, Yageo, Masan, Vingroup, United Envirotech, GlandPharma India, JB Chemicals, Goodpack, Pioneer DJ, KJRM Japan, Unizo Hotels Japan, Sunner, China Modern Dairy, NVC Lighting, Pepper Australia, Australia Venue Company, K9 PetFoods and many others across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Tan was with JP Morgan Securities in New York and was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions, leveraged finance and other corporate advisory transactions in the energy sector. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
