Desiree John

Desiree John (New York) joined KKR in 2022 and is the Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management. Ms. John is responsible for ensuring the consistent application of the risk management framework to help KKR achieve its strategic objectives and operational efficiency while operating within the firm’s risk appetite. Prior to this role, Ms. John served as the first Chief Operating Officer for Technology, Engineering & Data (TED). In her role as COO, she was responsible for providing strategic, fiscal, and operations leadership globally. Prior to joining KKR, Ms. John spent eight years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as the global head of risk and control self-assessment, where she was responsible for oversight of the firm’s operational risk program, strategic initiatives that shaped the operational risk landscape, regulatory interactions as well as partnership with technology to build in-house solutions. In addition, Ms. John served as Chief of Staff for the firm’s deputy chief risk officer. Ms. John began her career at Royal Bank of Scotland as an operational risk manager, based in London. She graduated from Nottingham Trent with a BA in History and English and subsequently received PDipBPM from the Institute of Risk Management.
